Petroleum engineering

Program for the Masters in Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum Engineering

The objective of the MSc curriculum is to train petroleum engineering professionals that understand the work flow concepts that are now prevailing in the oil industry and therefore are fully prepared to work in multi-disciplinary teams. The MSc curriculum, organized around several major teaching modules, is intended to give students a full understanding of the entire process from drilling to hydrocarbon production; well design; the fundamental concepts of reservoir characterization, reservoir modeling, reservoir simulation, and field management; the links between the various types of data; and the processes for integrating and processing all available information. Some major subjects are:

Masters in Petroleum Engineering, will be equipped with skills and knowledge that enable them to solve future tasks and challenges related to the exploration and production of oil and gas. There are great work opportunities within the traditional as well as the future oil industry for instance:

Drilling;

Reservoir modeling and reservoir simulation;

Oil and gas fields production management;

Oil and gas storage management.

In these areas, as well as in areas with similar activity, they can work as:

Engineering and technical staff;

Executives in engineering and hydrocarbon production companies;

Executives in the public sector and state institutions such as the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the Water and Energy Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Environment and Waters, Ministry of Investment Design, etc.).
